Ed Martinez is currently VP of the Wendy's/Arby's Group Shared Services and was Vice President in the AT&T Finance organization and Head of the award winning BellSouth Shared Services entity. Ed's role in the Wendy's/Arby's Group is to design and implement a Shared Services Center for accounting and payroll services, as well as serve as operations leader for the high transaction volume processes and services.

Ed's role in the BellSouth Shared Services Center included providing strategic direction and operational oversight for multi functional processes and services. Ed was the primary driver in creating and selling the vision of the enterprise-wide Shared Services Center, and he served on the project leadership team responsible for designing and implementing that vision. Ed's past experiences in BellSouth included serving as in various finance and project roles such as Corporate Accounting and Systems at BellSouth headquarters, financial planning and analysis, activity based costing, external financial and regulatory reporting, compliance and internal controls, contract administration and performance measurements.

Ed is heavily involved in external global Shared Services industry benchmarking and networking associations, and has been a featured speaker in numerous external conferences, and has published articles in the areas of benchmarking, performance management and best practices.

Jordan began his career with Pfizer in 1996, working on special projects for Pfizer's Executive Leadership Team. After moving on to his role in Organizational Effectiveness in Pfizer's Worldwide Pharmaceutical Organization in 2000, he focused his career on developing concepts and uncovering innovative solutions to change the way Pfizer's knowledge workers *work*. To that end, he designed and successfully piloted Office of the Future (now called pfizerWorks), a 24/5, on demand service to whom Pfizer colleagues can delegate typical support work, data analysis and protracted research projects to a dedicated overseas vendor. The project won approval from Pfizer's Vice Chair, CEO and CFO and was launched company-wide in 2008.

His work was recently recognized by BusinessWeek's Jena McGregor, in Game Changing Ideas for Business (April 2009) and in a 2008 Fast Company article, Scuttling Scut Work.

Jordan holds a BS in Administration of Health Service from Ithaca College and both a Masters in Health Administration and MBA from the University of Pittsburgh.

Paul Lucy is the Director of the Economic Development & Finance (ED&F) Division of the North Dakota Department of Commerce. The ED&F division is focused on the attraction, expansion and retention of new wealth in North Dakota through the development of primary sector businesses. Over the past 20 years, Lucy has been involved in the location of numerous companies involved in shared service and business processing outsourcing. Companies include, but are not limited to, ING, MLT WorldVacations, Holland America Lines, Phase II Solutions, Unisys, Sykes, Choice Hotels Int'l, Cargill Financial Services, etc.

Prior to assuming responsibilities with the ED&F, Paul was the Senior Vice President of Business Development for the Greater Fargo Moorhead Economic Development Corporation (GFMEDC) in Fargo, North Dakota. While with the GFMEDC, Lucy was responsible for the development and implementation of the corporation's strategic marketing efforts which were targeted at the development of primary sector businesses in Cass County, North Dakota and Clay County, Minnesota.

Paul also served as the President of the Minot Area Development Corporation (MADC) for four years from 2000 to 2004. Lucy moved into this role after serving as the Vice President of the organization from 1994 to 2000. The MADC is the lead organization within the Minot, North Dakota trade area that assists in primary sector business development

Scott Engelking is the Senior Director for Purchase to Pay and Financial Business Process Outsourcing at Eli Lilly and Company. He was responsible for the global implementation of Lilly's business process outsourcing (BPO) initiative for purchase-to-pay, order-to-cash, general accounting, and intercompany. He currently sponsors the relationship with the BPO provider (HP-EDS) and leads the internal governance team. In addition, Scott leads the US purchase-to-pay organization which processes over $4B of procurement spend. Throughout his 20 year career at Lilly, Scott has focused on improving processes, adding enabling technologies, and reducing costs. He has helped sponsor and implement many initiatives such as web invoice, supplier self service, dynamic web discounting, BPO workflow, web account reconciliation, e-catalog, web purchase requisitioning, procurement portals, and a supplier mall. In a prior role, Scott was also played a key leadership role in implementing the purchase-to-pay, order-to-cash, and intercompany processes for Lilly's single global instance of SAP. SAP is now live at Lilly for 85% of the company, across 17 of the company's major geographic locations. Scott has a Bachelors of Science in Engineering from Purdue University, and an MBA from Indiana University.


shail_kumar Shailendra Kumar

Shailendra Kumar is Senior Director at GMAC Financial Services responsible for Business Process Outsourcing - Center of Excellence. In this role, he is responsible for establishing GMAC's strategy for outsourcing and offshoring (O&O), identifying opportunities for O&O within different business units and global functions and then transitioning that work to onshore, near shore or off shore vendors. He is also responsible for vendor selection and vendor management at the enterprise level. Prior to this role, he was Director of Offshoring and Outsourcing at Hewlett Packard Company. During this time he started an HP owned offshore center in India and grew it to 650 FTEs (full time equivalent). He also managed a pool of offshore vendors who provided another 2000 FTE for HP projects.

Shailendra brings a unique blend of expertise both as a client manager who managed strategy and implementation of offshoring and outsourcing initiative for a $27B business group within Hewlett Packard Company and also as a hands-on manager who started and managed a large offshore center in India between 2005 and 2007. This allowed him to not only understand what value offshoring can bring to a company but also appreciate limitations an offshore vendor faces in delivering this value to its clients. This appreciation allowed him to create a sound offshoring strategy, a realistic implementation plan and the necessary management and governance structure. In little more than 6 years, offshoring grew from a few offshore engineers in 2001 to more than 2000 engineers working in 9 offshore centers in four countries and delivering more than $125M/year in savings to HP. Shailendra's team was responsible for creating a pool of offshore vendors, negotiating and managing the master services agreements, negotiating rate structures and incentives, vendor governance, offshoring work processes and managing & improving vendor productivity.

Prior to joining HP, Shailendra was a senior consultant with Deloitte and Touche Management Consulting where he specialized in business process re-engineering and operational improvement projects. Prior to that, Shailendra was responsible for new business creation at Pitney Bowes.

Shailendra has an MBA from Columbia Business School and an undergraduate degree in engineering from Indian Institute of Technology.

Sumeet Sanghani joined SunTrust in January 2008 and is the head of Global Outsourcing for the bank. In this role, Sumeet is responsible for enhancing returns to the bank from effective outsourcing initiatives, across lines of business and functions. The Global Outsourcing group is responsible for identifying opportunities to improve business performance, build necessary capabilities and aid in structural change through outsourcing, as well as ensuring the effective transition, execution and sustainable performance improvement of the bank's outsourced portfolios.

Prior to joining SunTrust, Sumeet was an Associate Principal in McKinsey's Atlanta office, where he was a leader of their Service Operations practice. He has over 13 years of management consulting experience and has assisted numerous clients in the areas of customer strategy, service operations transformation and outsourcing effectiveness. In addition, Sumeet has extensive experience in end-to-end operations improvement across numerous service industries.

Sumeet has a M.S. in Industrial Engineering from Virginia Tech and a B.S. in Electrical Engineering from Bangalore University. He lives in Atlanta with his wife, Kathy, and their son, Milan.

Suzanne Aquino is an Executive Director with UBS AG where she leads a global Outsourcing and Off-shoring Team providing a wealth of leadership and expertise to her internal clients in the various commercial and contractual aspects of off-shoring and outsourcing in the Business Process Outsourcing, Knowledge Process Outsourcing and Information Technology Outsourcing areas.

Suzanne is a Senior Sourcing Professional with over 10 years of experience in the fields of Information Technology and Services Sourcing. Since joining UBS AG in 1998 Suzanne has progressively expanded her responsibilities from leading geographically diverse deal teams on multi-million dollar sourcing tenders to developing a UBS vendor management education program. Suzanne's latest accomplishment was the sourcing lead for UBS on the sale of their India captive to Cognizant, which additionally concluded in a multi-year services contract covering BPO, KPO and ITO.

Working with her team, Suzanne consistently provides the UBS business groups with the leadership, insight and experience to capitalize on and leverage the competitive advantages that are achievable though the strategic use of off-shoring and outsourcing.

Robin B. ShahaniRobin B. Shahani

Robin Shahani joined Citigroup in October 2008 as Chief Administrative Officer and Global Head of Strategy and Excellence Programs for Citi Shared Services (CSS). Among its functions, CSS encompasses nearly 5,500 staff in key aspects of finance and risk reporting, human resources, procurement, accounts payable, anti-money laundering, reconciliations, and general services operations, as well as right placement (location strategy), all on a global basis. Robin is also leading multiple procurement-related transformation work streams, and is involved in strategy initiatives across Citi's Operations and Technology division, which houses nearly 140,000 staff worldwide.

From January 2004 through September 2008, Robin held various positions at EquaTerra, a leading independent advisory firm with expertise in large-scale, complex outsourcing, shared services, and internal transformation. Most recently, he managed Supply Chain Advisory Services worldwide, and the Business and Financial Processes Practice (BFP) in Europe, Middle East, Africa, and Asia Pacific. BFP focused on a broad range of functional processes, including finance, supply chain, and multi-process scopes, as well as knowledge based areas, such as research, analytics, and innovation.

Prior to joining EquaTerra, Robin served as Deutsche Bank's Head of Procurement for the Americas and (on an interim basis) the United Kingdom, driving the department's operations and transformation agenda and collaboration with Finance. Among his accomplishments in this role, Robin helped launch and lead the first global procure-to-pay outsourcing, and supported multiple other business and service line transformations / outsourcings in operations and technology areas, as well as development and implementation of the global outsourcing policy. He was also involved in driving substantial cost reductions across all purchased expense areas through a structured strategic sourcing program.

In 1999, Robin co-founded Silver Oak Solutions, a multinational, 80+ staff consultancy, which specialized in strategic sourcing, outsourcing, operational improvement and related advisory services to the leveraged buyout community and the public sector. Silver Oak pioneered methods of integrating multi-function outsourcing and strategic sourcing in post-acquisition, multi-company portfolio (primarily mid-market), and multi-organization environments.

Previously, Robin spent almost five years at Mitchell Madison Group, a global management consulting spin-off from A.T. Kearney and McKinsey that focused on general strategy, strategic sourcing, and outsourcing advisory engagements for Fortune 500 companies, with a particular focus on the financial services and media industries. He was also a Summer Analyst at Morgan Stanley and at H.C. Wainwright Economic Advisors, and an Intern to both, U.S. Senator Edward M. Kennedy and U.S. Congressman Joseph P. Kennedy II.

Robin graduated from Harvard University with a Bachelor of Arts in History. He has been based in New York and London for most of his career, but has worked extensively in Europe and Asia.
